As is clearly shown in the chart, both the number of museums and the number of visitors have experienced steady growth from 2013 to 2015 in China. The number of museums increased from around 4,000 in 2013 to nearly 4,700 in 2015, while the number of visitors rose significantly from approximately 6,000 to over 7,000 (in units of 100,000 visits) during the same period.
This upward trend reflects the growing public interest in cultural heritage and history. On the one hand, the government's continued investment in cultural infrastructure has enabled more museums to open across the country. On the other hand, rising living standards and greater awareness of cultural education have driven more people to visit museums for leisure and learning.
In my view, this is a highly positive development. Museums serve as bridges between the past and the present, and their flourishing signals a society that values its cultural roots and historical identity.
