Directions: Suppose you are planning a short play based on a classic Chinese novel. Write your friend John an email to 1) introduce the play, and 2) invite him to take part in it. Write your answer in about 100 words on the ANSWER SHEET. Do not sign your own name in your email; use “Li Ming” instead. (10 points)
You should write at least 90 words but no more than 110 words.

Dear John,
I am writing to invite you to take part in a short play we are preparing for the campus culture festival. The play is adapted from Journey to the West and focuses on the episode in which the Monkey King protects his companions on their journey. It will combine traditional Chinese storytelling with simple English dialogue.
Since you are interested in Chinese literature and have good stage presence, I sincerely hope you can join us. You may play a narrator or help polish the English lines. Rehearsals will begin next Friday evening in Room 302.
