The qipao, an elegant Chinese dress, originates from the Manchu Nationality in China. During the Qing Dynasty, it was a loose robe worn by royal women. In the 1920s, influenced by Western fashion, the qipao underwent some changes. The cuffs became narrower, and the dress became shorter. These alterations allowed the full display of feminine beauty. Today, the qipao frequently appears on world-class fashion shows. It is often the first choice for Chinese women attending important social gatherings, and many Chinese brides opt for the qipao as their wedding attire. Some influential figures have even suggested adopting the qipao as the national dress for Chinese women.
