An increasing number of Chinese people are indeed inseparable from their mobile phones now. Many of them, including the elderly, use mobile apps to stay connected and expand their social circles. They also use their phones for shopping and finding information due to the convenience of portability. Moreover, communicating via mobile apps is cheaper than traditional phone calls. However, this new trend has led to an over-reliance on mobile phones in social interactions. In fact, some young people have become so addicted that they neglect face-to-face communication with family and friends.
